The disturbing reason why Emma Stone’s new film nearly broke a child sexual abuse law
A new movie starring actress Emma Stone is being criticized for featuring children in an adult sex scene, further raising alarm for how many children are being sexualized in Hollywood and in general culture.
In an apparent twist on Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein,” “Poor Things” tells the story of a woman named Bella Baxter, played by Stone, who first commits suicide while pregnant. A mad scientist finds her body and takes the brain of her preborn child, implants it in Bella’s body, and brings her back to life. This results in a living person with a the body of a grown woman and the mind of a baby.
From just the beginning of the moviedepicts Bella engaging in sexual behavior, even though he has the mind of a baby. This, alone, is troubling because allies of Planned Parenthood routinely repeat the claim that “children are sexual beings” – a false assertion based on the pedophilic “research” of Alfred Kinsey.
Although she develops throughout the film, Bella has a childlike mind, but she is often have sex in the film, including while engaging in prostitution. It is described as reasonable because Bella is “a creature of free will” and therefore has the agency to do as she pleases; even her husband-to-be shrugs at her promiscuity, saying, “It’s your body, Bella Baxter; yours to give freely.”
As if that wasn’t enough of a concern, one of the scenes in the movie is garnering a lot of controversy. Bella has many clients while working in a brothel, but one of them is a father, bringing her two children there to watch him have sex with heras a twisted version of sex education.
According to BuzzFeed, it “original sex scene featured only on Poor creatures‘ film festival run,” because before being submitted for formal consideration, the filmmakers re-edited the scene so that it did not depict “sexual activity in the presence of children.” If it was not re-edited, this would violate the UK’s Protection of Children Act 1978. However, the film was still rated a BBFC as an 18 — the highest possible rating — largely because of the amount of nudity and graphic sex included. The running time for the film is the same in the US and UK.
Shockingly, angry cries of “censorship” erupted as a result of this “re-editing” to avoid depictions of child sexual abuse in the film. But on X (formerly known as Twitter), one user responded to the censorship outcry by expresses“Well… don’t have sex scenes involving children, by any means, in your movie.”
It is becoming common for graphic depictions of sex to be pushed on children. Even actress Gwyneth Paltrow, an outspoken supporter of Planned Parenthood, was shocked when she learned what her daughter was taught in sixth grade sex ed class. “They taught them sex ed in sixth grade, which was, like, yeah, OK. But I wasn’t really prepared for the information they brought home,” she said, explaining, “They teach them everything . Everything. Whatever you think — they pointed to the 11-, 12-year-olds. I told them everything, I swear.”
This is unusual for Planned Parenthood, which has long been in the business of selling sex to children. Bill Taverner, Executive Director at the Center for Sex Education —Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey’s sex education arm, which has the largest national conference for sex educators — has openly claimed that children are “born sexual” (again, a Kinsey-created falsehood) and even promoted the use of pornography in sex ed classes.
The notion of letting children be children, and not exploiting and abusing them with adult sexual desires, is clearly something that Hollywood and the abortion industry are not interested in.
