What It’s Really Like to Be a Surrogate for a Celebrity

As more and more “regular” people turn to surrogacy to expand their family, more celebrities are also opening up about their experience using a gestational surrogate to accept their child.

Several celebrities have gone through surrogacy, including Kim Kardashian, Tyra Banks, Jimmy Fallon, Nicole Kidman, Gabrielle Union, Lucy Liu, Neil Patrick Harris, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, and more.

So, what is it really like to be a celebrity surrogate? How much do celebrity surrogates get paid? Do they get special perks? Read on to learn more.

How are the surrogates matched with celebrities?

At Surrogate Parenting Services (SPS), we believe that the matching process should be approached with personal care and extensive experience. Our founder and president, Cristie Montgomery, personally guides this process, using everything he has learned from the personality profiles of the surrogate and intended parents, the meetings with each party, and his many years of experience in the field. As a result, our battles are almost always a success.

The matching process is no different if the intended parent is a celebrity or public figure. The surrogate will know who the intended parents are; however, he cannot post things about his trip without parental permission, and he will have to sign an NDA.

How much do celebrity surrogates get paid?

At SPS, our benefits package is the same for all surrogates, regardless of who the intended parents are.

Compensation depends on the surrogate mother level of experience and the details of her surrogacy journey. You can learn more about surrogate compensation at SPS here.

What is it like being a surrogate for a celebrity?

While being a surrogate for a celebrity may seem glamorous and exciting, your experience will largely be similar to that of any other intended parents.

When you work with SPS, you will have a case manager who is available to you 24/7. He will teach you the whole processattend all of your fertility appointments and pregnancy milestone appointments, and be there through your labor and delivery.

Intended parents are involved in the process as much as they want. The desired level of communication and participation is one of the criteria we consider in the matching process. So, for example, if you want to develop a close relationship with the intended parents, you will be matched with a couple who want the same.
