Today is #internationalwomensday and it’s one of the 365 days a year we need to keep this conversation going.
That’s how you talk.
It is how you show your actions.
The things you say and the things you don’t say.
Stand up for YOU, for your sisters, for your gals.
Remember that if we are kind to each other. woman Man Children. Then everything is easier.
As we work together, because we are all in this together.
I also strongly believe that this conversation starts early, and it’s something I talk about with my kids, especially through reading books.
We have a book we read to our boys called “Kind”.
Very good read. Very simple, but very effective.
The book talks about having buckets of kindness.
“When we are happy the buckets are full, when we are sad the buckets are empty.”
And the best line of the entire book?
“I like to fill people’s buckets. I think being nice is cool”
And it’s cool. It’s nice to be kind.
That’s another saying that goes on in our house, “it’s nice to be nice”.
When it comes to standing up for us as women, it’s not about putting others down. It is about equality and equity for all. Women, men, children of all ages, shapes and sizes. Of all races. In all religions.
We are all one.
It’s about all of us.
Working together for a common goal.
That’s what International Women’s Day is all about.
