5 Reasons To Create a Baby Registry for your 2nd or 3rd Child

We believe that every new baby should be celebrated and a baby shower is the perfect time for the expectant mother to relax and spend time with loved ones.

If you are pregnant with your second or third child, you are probably wondering, “Should I create a baby gift registry?” This is a hotly debated topic, and ultimately you have to make the decision that’s best for you. If you’re on the fence, we’ll do our best to convince you that you really are do need a baby registry for that 2nd or 3rd baby!

Without further ado, here are the top 5 reasons we think you should create a registry for your second or third baby:

  1. There is a big gap
If there is a big gap between your youngest child and the new baby, now is the perfect time to create a new baby gift registry. Maybe you’ve gotten rid of all your baby gear, thinking you’re never going to have children. Or maybe your stuff is old, outdated or out of date.
  2. There is a small gap
Are your children less than 2 years apart? Are you expecting twins this pregnancy? Now that you will have more than one baby in your home, you may need a few duplicates- car seats, cribs, changing tables and pads, waterproof mattress protectors, diaper pails, baby feeding and care items.
  3. You’re a Pro Now
You are a beginner for the first time. You thought you needed a wipe warmer, right? Now you’re a pro and you’ve discovered some helpful items for this new baby. Put them in a registry!
  4. Baby #2 or #3 is the opposite sex
Your first is a boy. Now you have a girl. Maybe it’s the other way around. Regardless of the order, you need some pink or some blue things like blankets, blankets, or nursery decor.
  5. Updated Gear and Technology
The baby industry is always changing. While you may not need the most up-to-date gadgets, every now and then there are new must-haves out there. Additionally, your child’s safety is paramount so always make sure your equipment is in good working condition!

As I mentioned earlier, there are different opinions about creating a baby gift registry for a 2n.d or 3street baby When I was pregnant with my second child, I created a baby registry (including many of the items above). However, the shower invitation did not include my registration information.

Instead, I gave the information to my baby shower host, mom and sister so they could share it with the guests. If you have other questions about a shower for a 2n.d or 3street baby, check out this article from the Huffington Post, written by our founder and etiquette expert, Cheryl Seidel.
