Care Net to Host “Abundantly More” National Conference, Aug. 29-Sept. 1

The theme for the 2023 Care Net National Conference—held August 29 through September 1 in Mobile, Alabama—is “Abundantly More,” based on Ephesians 3:20.

This is a fitting theme for an organization that aims to promote a holistic Pro Abundant Life movement.

“Now to him who is able to do more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” — Ephesians 3:20

“Being Pro Abundant Life entails embracing and promoting marriage, encouraging responsible fatherhood, and continuing to share the transformative message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Roland Warren, President and CEO of Care Net. “Being Pro Abundant Life means providing compassion, hope, and assistance to those facing pregnancy decisions so that they are empowered to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for to their families.”

The theme of this year’s National Conference is also a warning that there is still much work to be done by the end of the historic Supreme Court of 2022 Roe v. Wade decision, according to Kay Sanford, Care Net Conference Director.

“In a ‘post-Roe’ world, the need for pregnancy centers is even more important—everything from how we reach and serve clients considering abortion to how we engage with volunteers and donors are impacted,” Sanford said.

The Care Net National Conference, held at the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center in Mobile, features keynote speakers Drs. William Lile and Roland Warren. Natalie Grant, a contemporary Christian music artist, will be the musical guest. The conference also includes the finished one hundred breakout session speakers.

Dr. Lile, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, is licensed to practice medicine in both Florida and Alabama and has served as an instructor in both the University of Florida and Florida State Medical School OB/GYN residency programs.

Dr. Lile has a passion for teaching the church about the personhood of the unborn.

“All patients have rights,” he said on his website, ProLife Doc. “Pre-born babies are patients too! They deserve proper care and legal protection, just like the rest of us. It is very important that we work to uphold their right to life and dignity, because they are the most vulnerable who is patient with everyone.”

Roland Warren, an alumnus of Princeton University and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, is one of the key leaders in the pro-life movement today. After 20 years in the corporate world (including IBM, Pepsi, and Goldman Sachs), Roland spent 11 years as president of the National Fatherhood Initiative before joining Care Net in 2012 as president and CEO. He is the author of two books, Raising Children of Promise: A Guide for Single Mothers of Menand Bad Dad Bible: 8 Mistakes Every Good Dad Can Avoid.

The Care Net National Conference will provide an opportunity for pro-life advocates to network, fellowship, and advance their important work,” Sanford said.

“It’s great to connect with people up front; to pray with them, to pour on them, to give them the opportunity to interact with other like-minded people,” she said. “The ‘post-Roe’ world is not a dystopian nightmare as some abortion advocates would have you believe. It is full of loving, kind, and caring individuals whose desire is to see others live abundant lives.”
