What made you become an Egg Donor?
God blessed me with two beautiful children, and for a long time I wanted to be an egg donor, but the time was not right. One day, God put it in my heart and said, “It’s time.” Helping others and seeing and hearing how happy the intended parents are when they are successfully adopted is honestly the best feeling. Knowing that you helped someone who has been praying for this miracle for a long time, and when you can be a part of it too, it’s even better!
Who is the most important person(s) supporting your journey?
My husband, hands down. He was with me at every appointment, he was by my side during every injection, and during my gosh horrible mood swings the week of the intake. I can’t do it without him by my side!
How did you choose what type of egg donation you wanted (closed/open/semi-open)? Why did you choose this type?
We chose to make an open donation because we know that in the future, said child may still try to find me. We did open because we wanted to see how happy the new family would be with their new child one day.
What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming an egg donor?
Just do it! You really won’t regret it.
Do you know the outcome of your donation? How do you feel about the outcome?
I know they ended up with multiple embryos! And for that, I am very thankful and grateful [that] I was able to be a part of it!
How did you feel about your experience working with Family Source Consultants?
FSC was great, especially my case manager; he is hands down the best, and he is truly a star. Throughout my trip, she answered random texts, calls, and emails from me with some crazy questions, but she was there, and she answered at any time! He made the process smooth and easy.
Do you have anything else to share about your experience as an egg donor?
This is the most amazing thing I have ever done!
