If Wonder Woman is a mother, she will have wider hips and a softer belly and sagging breasts. And she’ll still wear that Bad Ass outfit.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, you’d see cheerios in her hair under her perfect curls and raisons on her nails under her red nail polish.
If Wonder Woman is a mother, her curls aren’t perfect, really. Her hair will be tossed without glasses or, perhaps, her Wonder Woman locks will be styled by her children with bright red, plastic barrettes. She would still be beautiful.
If Wonder Woman were a mother, her superpower would be to take away pain just by saying “I’m here.”
If Wonder Woman was a mother, her Wonder Woman Bracelets would have the power to fill a heart, to grow a person’s faith in themselves, to help a person feel safe and secure in their own skin.
If Wonder Woman were a mother, she would proudly acknowledge her imperfections- she would stand firmly on her two feet, her arms down at her sides with her palms facing up, her head held high and she would look at world in the eyes and say. “Yes. It’s Me! I’m messy and unsure and not sure of myself at times. And I’m proud.”
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would have a soft heart underneath all that bravery. He is often afraid. Yes, scared. And he will continue. That will encourage him.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would have a therapist. It’s obvious.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would push boundaries like a bad ass. He will refuse when he means to. He stops helping others when he needs to help himself the most. He fills himself up as much as he can so he can continue to save the world. But he’ll find out, folks. He knows to put on his oxygen mask first.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would sit quietly every day, before she went down on the bad guys, and she would meditate. He will invite his discomfort and become really familiar with it so he doesn’t have to run away from shit he doesn’t like. Of course, Wonder Woman doesn’t run away, but that comes from some serious training.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would know the difference between a situation that needs acceptance and a problem that needs fixing. This Wonder Woman will learn how to reserve her energy. In this Wonder Woman world, there really aren’t as many problems out there as one might think. Wonder Woman’s greatest super power is acceptance.
If Wonder Woman was a mother, I would instantly rekindle my 1970s fascination with super heroes. I will put all my eggs in his basket. I would feel forever safe and accepted and protected from the bad-guys (who often live in my mind like the rest of you, but, well, he will know that too).
If Wonder Woman was a mother, she would be even more amazing.
Because he will be real.
