A group of four sisters all from Scotland expecting babies within a few months of each other, for a very sweet family summer.
Jay Goodwillie, a 35-year-old mother of one, and 29-year-old Kayleigh Stewart, who is expecting her first child, are both due in May. Kerry-Anne Tomson, a 41-year-old mother of one, is due in October, while 24-year-old mother of one Amy Goodwillie is due in August. The number of babies in the family is now set to double, from four to eight.
“I’m still in shock,” Kayleigh said, according to The Epoch Times. “There will be four more children this year—it’s doubling… all the babies will have cousins the same age.”
Kayleigh and Jay were the first to find out they were pregnant and shared the news together. “Jay tried, we were on Facetime and he said ‘I have something to tell you. I said ‘No way, me neither,’” Kayleigh recalled, saying they planned matching t-shirts. “They thought I was wearing a t-shirt for Jay.” Both men are waiting.
A few months later, Amy and Kerry-Anne found out they were expecting too. It’s an exciting moment for a family that has always been close, shared a house in the past, and lives near each other to this day. “We’re always stealing each other’s clothes and make-up,” Kayleigh says, adding that having babies together is even more exciting. “I’m really looking forward to meeting the wee guy to see what he looks like. Just four more weeks and I’ll be able to lie down again.”
“I’m sure they’ll be best friends,” Kerry-Anne added of their children.
And growing their family together is something they realize is very special. “It’s statistically really unlikely to be pregnant at the same time. It’s really weird how the body works,” Kayleigh said, adding, “It’s like Russian dolls.”
