Pro-Life Congressman Chip Roy Endorses Ron DeSantis for President

Republican Texas Rep. sent. Chip Roy emailed Wednesday afternoon formally endorsing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for President in 2024, despite the fact that he has yet to announce a bid for the presidency.

Former President Donald Trump remains the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, national polls shows, however DeSantis voted behind him despite not having announced a campaign. In an email Wednesday, Roy said DeSantis is “a man of conviction” who “loves liberty and the rule of law.”

“The next President of the United States must be a vibrant and energetic leader with the faith, vision, and courage to chart a new course. America needs a leader who will truly stand up for her and empower the people against the destructive forces of unbridled government and corporate excess, wasteful spending, and awakened cultural indoctrination,” Roy said in his email.

“That leader is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Governor DeSantis is a man of faith — a man who puts his faith in God first as a dedicated husband and father. He grew up a blue collar kid who worked hard, got a great education, and immediately used it to serve his country,” he continued.

“He loved America unapologetically but he loved liberty and the rule of law even more, having the courage to fight for both. As Governor, he clearly made Florida stronger and freer. Economic development and Prosperity in Florida jumped out in his steadfast rejection of the devastating COVID orders being handed down to us by Washington’s pointlessly empowered bureaucrats. He stared down woke corporate America and higher education. And he stood with Texas in defending our border – sends a message to elites on Martha’s Vineyard that they cannot ignore the human and economic toll of open borders,” Roy added.
