Up, Up and Away! A Hot Air Balloon Baby Shower
The sky’s the limit when it comes to planning great parties with goodies from Bonjour Fete! So, when the time came to celebrate our friend Dana Ashmore of Acknowledgments Collaborativewe scratched our heads in the clouds Won’t you fly, up and away with us at our hot air balloon baby shower?
Pregnancy can sometimes feel like you’re floating—okay, and bloated—but mostly it’s floating. So, we want to capture all the mommy-to-be love in the air by making the most beautiful cloud balloons you’ve ever seen. To save, we used a form of topiary sphere and secured small balloon doublets to the wire to make the base. From there, we used a good cement rubber to pop in smaller clusters and flowers. For fluff’s sake, does it get any sweeter?
When we saw this Glitterville Paper Mache Hot Air Balloon, it was hard not to get carried away! They served as the main reference for the design details, from the palette to the gold stars and the shape of the hot air balloon itself.
For the table, we mixed mint cloud cups and napkins with cheery cloud shaped napkins and paired them with them pastel plates with gold stars. Place on top of them as well white and gold foil paper placemats are fancy pastels blue cutlery and rose gold striped straw. Whereas, the gold and blue clouds sheets of giftwrap made for a perfect runner.
Talk about a view from the top!
No table is without sweets—especially when eating for two. Sugarfina candy pearls in pink and blue and hot air balloon cookies by sweet it was just a smile!
This pink melamine tray These delicate hot air balloons and cloud cookies are beautifully presented.
Land on a nice one pink cake stand is the most daydreamy sky blue ombre cake, stacked sky high with macarons, meringues and a Oh Baby cake topper! Lizzie’s Bakery really went above and beyond!
Earth Baby Flowers create the dreamiest arrangement of Queen Anne’s lace, English garden roses, dahlia, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and delphinium. We love it so much, we put it on a pedestal!
Throw a gender neutral/unidentified shower? Use bunches of yellow, pink and blue wolves to keep guests guessing!
Oh, hello there!
Party planner pro tip for moms-to-be: Match your dress to the shower flowers! No, not really—but, we’re kind of in love with Dana’s Rachel Pally peony print dress.
And don’t forget to accessorize—every baby mama needs one these!
We hope you enjoy this magical ride, and wish you the best of luck—things just keep going up, up and up from here!
