Every step in the pregnancy journey is important. The first visit, the pregnancy test, the first ultrasound, and the care and support you get throughout the pregnancy—everything. And, spoiler alert: abortion clinics and pregnancy centers mean very different things. A new research study digs deeper into these life-changing moments. Researchers recently matched 445 abortion clinics with nearby crisis pregnancy centers. In all 50 states, data was collected and analyzed. Most research centers on wait times, appointments, tests, and services. What do you think they found?

Contraception, a peer-reviewed academic journal that is not in any way, shape, or form a pro-life publication. They conducted a study and found pro-life pregnancy centers offered better services than abortion clinics.
The study provides strong statistical evidence that pro-life pregnancy centers offer better and cheaper services than abortion facilities.
The study found that pregnancy centers have:
- shorter appointment wait times than abortion facilities
- are more likely to offer same-day appointments
- Abortion facilities often charge for pregnancy tests and ultrasounds while pregnancy help centers charge almost nothing for these services.
Find the study. This confirms what we have known for years. Pregnancy centers offer incredibly high-quality services that go beyond alternative abortion clinics.

Transactional Versus Transformational
This study confirms what we’ve known for years—but the public seems to be missing: pregnancy centers are changing. We don’t just focus on the physical situation, we do the hard work of connecting with you physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially in the same way Jesus did with those He ministered to.
Think about it: why did Jesus come to earth? Couldn’t He just heal people from heaven? Why, in the Holy Scriptures, do we read about Jesus coming to earth and talking to those He healed? Because Jesus wants a relationship with us. He healed the woman with the blood issue. He wants his relationship with Him fully restored. Healing is not just a health care transaction for Jesus, healing is a transformation—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially restored.
As Roland and Vince point out on this episode of CareCast, the men and women who serve in our pregnancy centers are doing the ministry of Jesus. We are not surprised that our service is better compared to abortion clinics. Why? Because abortion clinics, by their very nature, are transactional. Pregnancy centers do other, more rewarding work—transformational work.
