Winnie The Pooh Diaper Cake Ideas
Gift Basket With Winnie The Pooh
Let’s call it a boxed diaper cake – or maybe it’s a diaper basket? – was quickly made. It’s not a traditional diaper cake but a basket with rolled diapers and some Winnie The Pooh decorations. Because, with all the different things needed, it’s hard to make exactly the same diaper cake. So I’m just going to give you some ideas and tips and with them you can put together your own individual cake and let your creativity shine.
This one here is a diaper basket for a boy but by using other colors you can also make it for a girl or a unisex one.
The basket shown here contains:
26 diapers (size 2), basket (size 10 x 10 x 6 inches / 25 x 25 x 14 cm), cuddly Winnie The Pooh bear (size 8 inches / 20 cm), baby bottle with Winnie The Pooh design, Winnie The Pooh baby onesie, Winnie The Pooh spoon and fork, Winnie The Pooh baby socks, Winnie The Pooh ‘baby on board’ car sign, pacifier, 3D sticker, ribbon
Make this diaper basket as small / as big as you want. Get a nice basket first, preferably one that the new family can use later. For example to store diapers, baby toys, baby equipment, etc. It doesn’t matter, what material the basket / storage box is made of – it can be made of fabric, BPA free plastic material, bamboo or even wood. A collapsible storage box is also suitable.
Then grab a few diapers to fill the basket. To conveniently organize your ‘other stuff’ you need to roll up the diapers. Depending on how tall your basket is, one layer of rolled diapers may be enough. But you may also need two layers of diapers or fill the bottom first with flat lay diapers and then put a layer of rolled diapers on top. It is important that the top layer is rolled diapers because otherwise it will be difficult to insert your other items.
The best way to roll diapers is to start with the open end and roll them toward the closed end. Fix one end with a small rubber band. Then stack the diapers in your basket with the rubber side facing up. Once your basket is fully stacked with diapers, you can easily remove the rubber bands by simply pulling them.
That’s the top view of the basket. To get the friendly Winnie The Pooh and the baby bottle together, I had to remove one diaper each and squeeze the baby bottle between the Winnie The Pooh respectively. Depending on the size of the item, you may need to remove the diaper or sometimes you can just squeeze the item into the possible gap. I was able to stick the baby’s spoon and fork, the pacifier, the wrapped onesie and the wrapped socks into the gaps.
For the onesie flower, I folded a onesie with the Winnie The Pooh appliqué just once lengthwise and then rolled it up and tied a ribbon at the top. A small pompom placed inside the top marks the center of the flower.
For a cute flower sock, I got a pair of Winnie The Pooh baby socks. I lay the socks flat and put one on top of the other. Then I loosely rolled them up, and fixed the roll by tying a ribbon around it. A little twitch here and there will form your flower. And again, a small pompom at the top decorates the center.
As you may have noticed, I left the Winnie The Pooh ‘Baby On Board’ sign on the plastic to keep it neat and tidy. I used two small fabric pegs to fix it to the outside of the basket. If you have a simple basket, a baby name chain with wooden letters can be a good alternative, too. For more details, as well as more ideas and tips, see here: making a diaper cake with all kinds of decorations.
Finally, to pimp out the diaper basket decor, I put some Winnie The Pooh 3D stickers on some of the diapers. If you have a simple basket, put some stickers on the basket.
Winnie The Pooh Diaper Bear
The next diaper cake idea featuring our little friend, is a diaper bear. I found this cute organic Winnie The Pooh set at H&M consisting of a hat, a onesie with Winnie’s face printed on it and some pants. I added 45 diapers, a burp cloth and a bear rattle. I made this cake like a regular one diaper bear (no ears) and put the onesie on the top stack of diapers (= bear face) and also put on the hat. The pants are combined with the lower stack of diapers (= bear belly). The bear is wearing a Winnie the Pooh burp cloth and I also made a bear rattle, made of wood, to make the diaper gift more colorful. I really like the outcome!
Perfect as a centerpiece for a little girl or boy’s baby shower alike!
Winnie The Pooh Diaper Snail
A diaper snail is also a cute homemade diaper gift. Use Winnie The Pooh accessories and make a one-of-a-kind Winnie The Pooh themed diaper cake. I used the same Winnie The Pooh set as for the diaper bear, however, you can also buy your accessories like a sun hat and a Winnie The Pooh baby toy to put separately in the snail house – that’s what I did for the Winnie diaper snail pictured above and the Tigger diaper snail below. Again, as the colors are unisex, this nappy cake is suitable for both girls and boys. Find the diaper snail instructions here, it’s easy to do – just try!
Winnie The Pooh Diaper Cake For Girls
Winnie The Pooh’s cute pink friend Piglet is the perfect theme for a baby girl diaper cake.
This is a traditional diaper cake featuring Piglet on top. While all the other Winnie The Pooh characters are great for girls and boys, Piglet qualifies more for girls, simply because he’s pink. The cake was personalized for ‘Anna’. Here you will find the instructions for this goodie Piglet diaper cake.
