Winter Baby Shower: How to guide

Planning a Winter Baby Shower?

Winter is a great time to host a cozy, indoor Winter themed Baby Shower. After everything, “Winter Wonderland” o “Baby it’s cold outside” are the perfect Baby Shower themes for a cold winter afternoon.

Just follow our guide to planning the perfect Winter Baby Shower.

Baby It’s Cold Outside Decor!

This is the perfect theme for all white decorations with a splash of silver. I often raided my Christmas decoration boxes to start this theme… my favorite decoration ideas are:

  • Snowflakes
  • Baubles in silver or white
  • Fir Cones
  • Seasonal plant. Firs, holly, and bare branches can make a beautiful display to hang baubles on.
  • Silver or white cloth as tablecloths
  • White church candles
  • Shiny balloons
  • Fairy lights

Winter Baby Shower Invitations

Set the scene for the party with a Winter themed invitation that coordinates with your decor. Depending on your theme, these two options fit perfectly with a Winter Wonderland or Baby It’s Cold Outside theme.

Dress code

Either low key “cozy winter sweater” or more attractive “winter whites” work well for this theme.

Winter themed party food

Continue the white theme with the food options. Any sugary white frosting works perfectly. Also, cupcakes and cookies look great iced in different shades of white, silver and light blue.

Other sweet treats topped with icing sugar also fit the theme, such as donuts, gingerbread or even fruit pies and tarts.

Signature Mocktail

This non-alcoholic mulled wine makes the perfect drink for a Winter themed Baby Shower.

What’s in a Diaper Bag?

For this easy DIY shower game, fill a diaper bag with 8 to 10 baby goodies (think bottle, onesie, diaper cream, hairbrush) then pass the bag around. Next, visitors should try to identify as many objects inside as possible by just touching, (not looking) and write them down. Once everyone has had a chance, compare the lists to see who identified the most correctly. When the game is over, Mama leaves with a diaper bag ready for the baby.

How big is Mommy’s tummy?

Test your guests’ guessing skills in this funny Baby Shower guessing game. First. using string, ribbon, or even toilet paper, have each shower guest measure the circumference of the expectant mother’s baby bump and cut a piece of string (or ribbon or toilet paper) that wraps around her belly. Then whoever gets the closest wins.

Baby, it’s cold outside!

baby shower dressing game

This is a great Winter themed game! Just set up a “dressing station” with a doll, diaper, onesie, T-shirt, pants, socks, hat, and coat for the “baby”. Next, guests take turns blindfolding and trying to dress up the “baby”. Then every attempt and the fastest (and best dressed) wins!

Baby Shower Favors

Finally, these pretty snowflake mini soaps make the perfect favors for a Winter Wonderland Baby Shower. At under $1 a soap, they’re also a great value.
