10 Baby Shower Games and Activities that Won’t Have Your Guests Cringing
Have you ever been to a baby shower where you could almost hear the collective groans as the baby shower games were announced? Okay, so most visitors just grin and bear it, but come on! we can do better. There are tons of options for actually fun baby shower activities and games that your guests won’t be able to pull off.
Make a Set of Wooden Blocks. This one is fun and easy for guests (even those who are afraid to get a little artsy). You will have a sweet set of blocks to display in the baby’s room. You can provide materials that match your decor.
Make a Baby Headband. We absolutely love this baby headband station. These days baby girls sport headbands aplenty. Why not add a little sentimentality to her fashion statement by knowing that your favorite aunt, cousin, etc. made it for her.
Decorate a Onesie. This one is always fun. Have enough onesies for your friends and family to get creative. We love the two below—one lets you glue on bowties and ties and the other provides stencils to get the perfect design. They both take the pressure off your less artistic guests by making everything simple.
Make a Floral Crown. Flower crowns are all the rage in maternity photos, so it’s no surprise that they’re starting to appear at baby showers. Share the fun with your guests and let everyone make and wear their own.
Decorate Your Own Mirror. Okay, so this one is definitely on the more unusual side, but we actually love it because it is an activity and a favor all in one. If you plan to have a mocktail bar at your shower, this baby shower activity might fit the bill.
Make an Alphabet Book. Have a particularly artistic crowd? Enlist their help to make a personalized alphabet book for the baby. Guests of all ages will have fun with this one.
Baby Shower Mad Libs. Nothing makes guests giggle faster than a silly round of mad libs. There’s no pressure for your guests to be smart. They just follow the noun/adjective/verb prompts and are left with a pretty funny page of advice to give the mom-to-be. Use our free printable version here.
Design a Nursery Game. Can you guess that this activity was at our own co-founder Melisa Fluhr’s baby shower? Well, of course! Print pictures of cribs, gliders, changing tables and nursery decor items, and let your friends go to town to create the nursery of your dreams. The mom-to-be chooses her favorite to declare the winner.
Predict Baby’s Facial Features. This is one of the sillier baby shower games. You and your friends and family will agree on the collaged faces they end up with after combining cut and paste features of mom and dad-to-be.
Baby Shower Bingo. Okay, this is a traditional baby shower game, but I think it’s one of the biggest crowd pleasers. As an added benefit, it helps keep your guests busy while you open all those presents. You can download and print our free printable baby shower bingo cards.
What is your favorite baby shower game? Do you like the tried-and-true traditional baby shower games or do you prefer a more unique baby shower activity? We hope you are inspired with ideas for your baby shower!
