15 Super Fun 100 Day Project Ideas for Kindergarten

Across the country, kindergarten students get the same assignment, “In honor of the 100th day of school, create a project that brings the number 100 to life.”

Also across the country… parents are wondering how they can help their little one with this important project. If you need help brainstorming 100 Days of Kindergarten project ideas, you’ve come to the right place! I’ve rounded up a few favorites I’ve found throughout the year in hopes of helping you and your child with one of their first big assignments.

My Experience with “100 Days of School” Projects.

“When did it start being a thing?” asked my friend Jen, as she posted this photo of her son on Instagram. None of us are sure of the answer, but if you can’t beat ’em you might as well join ’em.

When Julian was in kindergarten, Julian and I used the 100 Days project as an excuse to go trick-or-treating. We cut the pieces of fabric into 100 square-ish scraps (actually, he took them and I cut them). Then we pinned them to a square piece of fabric. And then we sew. Not the most impressive craft, I know.

We keep it simple. It has only ten running stitches in the entire fabric. In my over-ambitious crafter mind, I was going to make this pillow for her after we got it home from school, but she’s in second grade now and I still haven’t figured it out.

Then, I came home and found that some other crazy pants (and I say “crazy pants” with the utmost respect for their creativity) parents had made these amazing projects with their kids. Feeling inspired, put together a list of ideas for next time! And, here we are…
