The formation of PSI Attention Components is a two-day course, given by an expert and captivating professor, who uses an exhaustive and evidence-based study plan,
designed for psychiatrists, nurses, doctors, social workers, providers of mental health, childbirth professionals, providers of social support and any person interested in developing skills to evaluate and treat perinatal mood disorders. This training will be imparted for the first time in Spanish in February 2023 and will be imparted again 6th and 7th of diciembre of 2023.

It is fundamental to offer this training in Spanish. What is the advantage of adding advanced training to training on components of attention?

Tell us about PSI’s professional trainings available in Spanish.
The PSI Components of Care training is a two-day course, taught by expert and engaging faculty, using a thorough,
evidence-based curriculum designed for psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, social workers, mental health providers, birthing professionals, social support providers, and anyone interested in developing skills to diagnose and treat those perinatal mood disorders. This training was given in Spanish for the first time in February 2023 and is being given again December 6-7, 2023.

On December 8, 2023, for the first time, PSI’s Advanced Psychotherapy training will be conducted in Spanish, designated for Spanish-language or bilingual participants. Anyone wanting to gain training in perinatal mental health, understanding perinatal mental health challenges, and for those seeking their PMH-C.

It is very important to offer this training in Spanish. Even bilingual clinicians may not have the clinical language to talk about perinatal mental health; Hearing clinical terms in Spanish from two native Spanish speakers is invaluable. By offering more PSI trainings in Spanish, more professionals will know there is something they can bring to support their families and clients.

Who is the appropriate audience for Advanced Psychotherapy?
Advanced Psychotherapy goes deeper into the topics covered in the two-day Components of Care training, and beyond. The intended audience is psychotherapists (therapists/psychologists). Anyone is welcome to take Advanced Psychotherapy, including prescribers, doulas, and nurses (all disciplines). The content can benefit anyone – this is different from Care Components; we talk about clinical aspects and presenting cases, and the training is more interactive with the audience, who share personal stories and are better able to connect the dots between their experience and the content.

When are these trainings offered?
The Components of Nursing Practice are December 6-7, 2023. On December 8, 2023, for the first time, PSI’s Advanced Psychotherapy training will be conducted in Spanish. If you are interested in bringing the two-day training on Components of Care or any of the advanced trainings to your area, you can make the request here. Hopefully, we will be able to add personal trainings in the Spanish language several times in 2024.

What is the benefit of adding advanced training to Care Components training?
Advanced exercises go deeper into the topics covered in the Components of Care. A question to ask yourself: Does the advanced training advance your skills in your line of work? Additionally, if you are pursuing a PMH-C, you need six hours of advanced training to qualify for the exam.

Does the PMH-C exam include material from advanced exercises?
The PMH-C exam material is taken from Components of Care and the PSI webinar series; all material foundations. Advanced exercises add to your knowledge, but the questions on the PMH-C exam will come from the foundation material. Eventually, PSI plans to translate the PMH-C exam into Spanish so that providers from Spanish-speaking countries can become certified.
