Nuna Baby and Uber Team Up to Put Car Seats into Uber Cars!

Like it or not, all parents should take their kids at least once, whether they’re going on a family vacation or even just wanting to take them to a museum for the day. If you don’t want to stress about driving or parking, the perfect solution is an Uber. But baby in tow means hauling stuff, including a car seat, on an Uber ride. That was not a fun trip. What parent enjoys reinstalling their child’s car seat over and over again? Our guess is no one. So, what if you could call an Uber with a seat already in the car? Well, Uber and Nuna Baby has teamed up to help parents with young children and is equipping Ubers with Nuna Baby RAVA.

Car Seat Collaboration ‘Reflects Nuna’s Mission’

“We’re thrilled to partner with Nuna to offer Uber riders an easy way to get their kids around town,” said Molly Spychalski, head of Global Brand Partnership Marketing, in a press release about Nuna Baby’s partnership and Uber. “Because Nuna is an industry leader and RAVA is a convertible and easy-to-install car seat, they are a perfect partner to bring this product to life. Uber riders in select cities will now experience Nuna’s products in the real world.”

The Nuna Baby RAVA car seat has an “all steel frame and reinforced belt path for more protection.” It can accommodate children weighing 5-65 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. facing backwards. It is suitable for an average range of birth to 6 years old. Parents with young children can travel with extra peace of mind because Uber said that all drivers who sign up to be Uber Car Seat providers are trained by Safe Children Around the World. Having easy access to these premium car seats is great, but knowing that the car seats on the Uber ride are installed correctly and safely is even better.

“Our partnership with Uber reflects Nuna’s mission to help families continue to transform safe car rides that make it easier to grow with your child,” said Esther Saint, director of Trade Marketing at Nuna Baby, in press release.

And for parents who prefer to bring their own car seat when leaving home, Nuna Baby offers PIPE Urbn, which is an “innovative car seat designed with a baseless and removable infant seat that is easy to install,” according to the press release. The release says PIPA Urbn is compatible with 99% of Uber vehicles.

Starting in New York and Los Angeles

But for those who push to order an Uber with the Nuna Baby RAVA already installed, all they have to do is select the car seat option when confirming their ride. It’s important to note that Nuna Baby and Uber’s partnership is launching in New York City and Los Angeles, with plans to expand to more cities soon. So, if you’re not in NYC or LA, you might have to wait a bit, but stay tuned and watch for this life-changing feature coming soon to Ubers! Until then, if you plan to visit NYC or LA with the family, you can now leave your child’s car seat at home and travel safely and comfortably with Uber and Nuna.

We predict it will be in popular demand, so Uber also announced that this year, people can do reserve their Uber Car Seat in advance. This will be a useful feature for families to avoid long waiting times due to the current low inventory.

In the meantime, even if the “Uber car seat” is not yet accessible to you, the fact that partnerships like this are happening speaks volumes to how much impact parents of young children have and how much we influence major industries such as travel and transportation. This is a great step in the right direction. The world is better if we can get out and see it — with our little ones — so thank you, Uber and Nuna Baby, for making it a little easier for us when we do.
