The Supreme Court & Access to Mifepristone
When news came that the Supreme Court upheld the 5th Circuit’s decision to restrict access to mifepristone, many of us at carafem breathed a sigh of relief. We have removed our contingency plans and assured our team that we will be business as usual in all 18 states we serve come Saturday morning. But we didn’t celebrate.
This completely baseless case to limit a safe, effective drug should not be part of the national conversation and should not made it very high in the courts. And we know that a small number of vocal anti-choice extremists will continue to do everything in their power to limit access to safe and effective abortion care. To them we say, “Try and stop us.”
We are not afraid. We will not back down. We keep our eyes on the horizon, providing respectful, considerate, and affordable abortion care to those who want it, no matter what. We will continue to work to create a future where abortion is legal, stigma-free, and completely convenient in all 50 states. We believe that everyone has the right to make their own decisions about their bodies and their futures, regardless of their income, immigration status, physical ability, zip code, political views, or religious affiliation.
And we are not alone. We are proud to be part of the majority of people in the US who support access to abortion care. We will not let a small minority of anti-choice extremists dictate our future. But we need financial support to maintain our momentum.
By donating to carafem, you are taking a side in the fight for body freedom. Your contribution will help us expand our online abortion care services to more states, reach more people, and continue to provide compassionate care, even in the most turbulent times.
Join us in this fight for a better future. Together, we can create a world where everyone has the freedom to make their own choices about their bodies and their lives.
