Why 3.2 million Calico Critters Toys Are Being Recalled
Parents are being urged to check their children’s toys after more than 3.2 million of popular Calico Critters toys have been recalled due to a potential choking hazard. If you’re not sure if your child’s Calico Critters toy is part of the recall, here’s what you need to know.
Why was the recall issued?
The recall was issued after two children tragically died while playing with Calico Critters toys. Small, detachable pacifier and bottle accessories pose a choking hazard to young children.
How do I know if my product is affected by the recall?
If you purchased Calico Critters animal figures or sets with bottle and pacifier accessories from major retailers or online from 2018 to 2023, they may be affected by the recall. The recalled toys have an Epoch label on the bottom, along with a date code of either WF4B19, WF4C19, WF4D19, or WF4E19.
What should I do if my product is recalled?
If you own a Calico Critters toy affected by the recall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission parents are advised to take the recalled toy away from children immediately and contact Epoch Everlasting Play for a full refund or replacement toy.
