You have to touch him to see
The angel on the Christmas tree.
And even though he is still very small
To know the meaning of everything
You see his eyes shining
Of colored lights that come and go
And he felt himself trembling with joy
With every new and amazing sight.
Santa was there with his happy face
Beaming from the fireplace.
And from the stocking hanging there
Take a peek at a cuddly teddy bear.
Bright decorations and candy canes —
Musical toys and wooden trains —
The fun is endless
Spread for him this night of nights!
He pointed and grinned from ear to ear
And then he yawned – it was almost his bedtime!
Dad kissed him and you turned away from him
To rest for the fun of his first Christmas Day!
