“Everything was so special today! I am honored that everyone can come together and celebrate. I bought a beautiful blue dress thinking how appropriate it is to wear blue for a baby boy. However, after much convincing, and seeing a slip of the vision board, I was strongly influenced to wear the yellow dress. I’m glad I did the last minute wardrobe change. The theme, ‘Here Comes the Son’ included bright and vibrant colors, and my yellow dress was perfect!
However, most importantly, the room is full of love. My sister and sisters-in-law got together and organized a beautiful shower at my mother-in-law’s house. Being with family and friends in a familiar family home is more meaningful than having it in a banquet hall. On top of that, the food was prepared from a cute little restaurant that my husband’s late mother frequented which was very sweet.”
The mother-to-be continues,
“I don’t want a coed baby shower, but I really want to make sure my husband, father, and father-in-law are there. My father recently had surgery and I was so happy that he made it to my shower. I don’t want to have one without him by my side.
In general, I did not change anything. I am very lucky to have married into a wonderful, supportive family who get along so well with my family. When I was younger and I made my “perfect husband” list, that was one of my top items and I’m so happy I accomplished that.”
