Sign-On Bonus for New Team Members + Essay Contest — Doulas of Capitol Hill

Our 2024 word of the year is Experience.

Doulas of Capitol Hill is committed to supporting our clients to have a great experience, building our community by sharing inclusive and anti-racist affiliated businesses and organizations, and growing our professionals skills so that every doula can feel confident about having a thriving and sustainable career as a birth-worker through our monthly Town Hall.

This year, we are contributing to the Doula Community and the professional growth of doulas in two ways:

First: We offer a sign on bonus for those we are hiring at our In Person Hiring Fair to be held on March 28th from 10am-2pm at The Gaylord at National Harbor. We are looking for Birth Doulas, Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists and Massage Therapists ready to work immediately!

Please email us now to register for the event!

Second: Doulas of Capitol Hill provides a $500 scholarship to one team member to go to a professional doula certification of their choice to further their growth and understanding as a birth worker.

The essay prompt is:

What does a “positive experience” mean to you and your doula clients? How can you increase your professional experience?

Contest Requirements

To enter the contest, you will need to write an essay. The essay should include a segment on how this certification will enhance your experience, your personal values, goals, and aspirations, as they define your doula career.

We look for these essays to demonstrate warmth, professionalism, and non-judgmental support.

There are no essay requirements in terms of length, style, or format.

Essays should be emailed to Ashley@DoualsofCapitolHill.com by March 27 with the subject line “Doula Week Essay”.

Please include a photo or two that we can use for publication. Winners will be announced at the end of World Doula Week. #LetsTellYourStory
