Small Black Businesses Matter. Always.

As a small mom-owned business, it’s always important to us to try to find and support black-owned businesses. Not just now, always. Below are great products we’ve loved and carried ahead of the recent push to support black-owned small businesses. Ours is a passionately curated collection. Nothing in our stores is by accident and we only carry items of exceptional quality. Some of these we don’t currently have in stock, but that doesn’t indicate anything about their quality-at all.

Everything below has direct links to Black Owned Businesses.

We are white owned. We always strive to support POC in as many ways as possible—from the models (some of whom have teenagers now!) to the products we carry. Perfect? Nope. Implicit bias is real. We are listening, we are learning.

Insanely soft. Surprisingly supportive (but not full support).

Here’s the real story of this relationship: The owner came into the shop with her line, it was beautiful but we weren’t sure our customers would respond- they weren’t nursing bras, they weren’t supportive, they didn’t have adjustability .

We love these bras. We were honest with the owner. He sent us bras in the shipment. They don’t sell. For months. We sell them everywhere. Then, on March 1st, we made people feel the love. Why does it take a month? We have theories but no ideas. We wrote to the owner on March 4, 2020:

I hope it finds you and yours well.

I started writing you a note over a week ago to check in and let you know that despite our best efforts the bralet is just not selling, in fact we haven’t sold a single one. And then I sold two that day. And have sold 3 since then. So, I can’t tell you what changed, ha but guess we should be invoiced for the bottom, and let’s see if we can keep it going 🙂

Yes. March 4th. Covid-19 started affecting our business on March 9th. We haven’t met many people in person since then. These bras are a dream. Dream, feed, and support a small black mom who also owns a business? Do it mom!

The real story here? This dad delivered, the bag is cool, we love it, it’s high quality for a cheap price. Boom. That’s what we do here, right? We’re not sure our clients will be as obsessed as we are, but, it’s definitely worth a try. And, by the great price? I mean $49.95(and it looks like it’s $40 on his site now!) We sold them, but very slowly. Want to support a small business owned by a black father? This bag will be a no-brainer in our minds. And, um, Father’s Day is coming up, just sayin’.

So, “Hair and Body?!?” you said? Yes. I can hear you. You are a mother, don’t ask, don’t judge, just listen to me. It’s the best, and yes, it’s great for hair, and you don’t even have to wash your hands, just mix the rest with your hands! I like lavendar and lemongrass, but I’m sure everything is…divine 😉

Okay, the real story here? My brother bought a tub of it for me at a flea market in DC. We haven’t brought it yet, but I’m obsessed with it and keep toying with the idea of bringing some. to me, and it doesn’t sell!) So, do everyone here a favor, do yourself solid and buy some.

And, another product that’s insanely priced. I bought three tubs at once. It probably won’t prevent stretch marks, but, it will make you feel better.

Shop black-owned small businesses. Now and forever!
