Where to have a Baby Shower

If a special someone in your life is about to give birth, you may be wondering where to throw your baby shower. Congratulations to the mom-to-be! How wonderful of you to show her how much you care by throwing her a baby shower! Baby showers are truly important events that new mothers will remember for the rest of their lives. That’s why they have to be special from start to finish, starting with the venue.

So, where exactly should you have a baby shower? Well, as you will soon see, there are many baby shower venues that you can explore. Ultimately, however, it all depends on what’s convenient for the mom-to-be. He is the boss, and what he says goes!

However, as her good friend, your job is to give her options. Or, if you’re doing it as a surprise gift, your job is to work with her other girlfriends behind her back and blow her away. That is exactly what this article will help you with.

Let’s get started!

Best places to have a baby shower

First, it is important to consider what kind of Baby Shower you are planning before you decide on the best Baby Shower venue.

Things to consider include:

  • The time of year. You might want a cozy indoor venue for a Winter Baby Shower, or a cozy outdoor venue for Summertime.
  • The number of Guests you plan to invite. A large number of guests require large Baby Shower venues and fewer guests will of course fit in a smaller space. Also, you don’t want to rent a large space just for a few people that won’t fill it!
  • Your budget! Baby Shower venues can be expensive if you choose fancy places. If budget is a consideration, this needs to be kept in mind.
  • Catering. Do you need a venue that offers a catering option or are you planning to organize your own food and drinks.
  • Are children invited? If you have a lot of kids attending, you’ll want to make sure your Baby Shower venue is child friendly.
  • Your Baby Shower theme. Many places will allow you to decorate your themed Baby Shower, but some will not so it’s worth keeping in mind.

Having a Baby Shower at home (indoors)

This one is pretty obvious, isn’t it? First, having a baby shower at the host’s home is ideal because it creates an intimate and comfortable experience for the mother-to-be and family members. Plus, it’s easier for him because he doesn’t have to go anywhere! Home baby showers are the perfect place for gift opening and baby shower games.

The only downside (and it can be a big downside, depending on the event!) is the cleanup afterwards. This is the least fun part of the home baby shower. An easy solution for this is to have everyone clean up after themselves before they leave, or perhaps have a baby shower in an outdoor setting. Here it is…

Backyard Baby Shower

where there will be a baby shower

The gardens are beautiful. Only people who don’t cry at ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and people who don’t take puppies will tell you otherwise! Plus, flowers, beautiful settings, and nature around you; what’s not to love?

This is why they are perfect for baby showers. Having one in a garden full of life is almost poetic. If you have a large garden, it should be a no-brainer to hold your celebration there.

Unless the weather is bad or your garden is too small. In which case, you still have a few other options…

Baby Shower in a Tea room

Another option is a tea room. There is something about tea that just relaxes you. Tea rooms are very simple spaces, but they have a way for us to engage in conversations and interact, which is exactly what you want at a baby shower.

You’ll love the ambiance and the conversations, and of course, the endless cakes and snacks. You can even take things up a notch and come up with some games that everyone can play. Make it fun with some free printable baby shower games and everyone will have a great time.

Baby Shower in a Restaurant

Similar to tea rooms, restaurants offer ambiance, space, and a cozy place where everyone can hang out. Plus, they take the pressure of decorating and getting everything to look perfect out of your hands. You have access to the waitstaff for that.

When it comes to restaurants, you have two options; you can book the entire restaurant if you have a large guest list, or you can go for one or two large tables if there are only a few of you.

Additionally, some restaurants allow you to create your own themed decorations. Just remember that they will be more willing to do this if you reserve the entire restaurant. You can even play baby shower games in a restaurant setting. These free printable Baby Bingo and Who Knows Mommy Best cards are great!

Local parks are great because they are relatively straightforward and relaxed settings. No preparation required. You just have to tell everyone where and when you’re meeting, and that’s it. All they have to do is show up.

The only downside is that the parks are often crowded. However, if your guests don’t mind crowds, you have nothing to worry about.

Church Hall Baby Shower

If you are a religious person, a church hall can be a great place to have a baby shower. The good thing about churches is that they often offer discounts or even complete waivers in place for members of the congregation, you have a good chance that you are looking at a great deal in this area.

Another plus is that you won’t need a lot of decorations in the church hall.

You can make things more fun by including some games and activities. The important thing here is to know your audience and know where everyone in your group of friends is religious.

What’s more, you can take a walk around the vineyard after the party.

Baby Shower in a Hotel

Hotels are great especially if you want the baby shower to last overnight. After all, you get everything you need in one place, with all your favorite people around you. Few things beat that.

Surprisingly, overnight baby showers aren’t as popular as they used to be (mostly because people have jobs and lives to get back to), but if you choose to have one, it will bring your entire group of friends closer together and reinforce your relationship more than. any girls night out will do.

Community center

Finally, community centers are affordable. And most of them have spaces big enough to hold a baby shower with lots of guests.

Of course, the downside to this is that when you book a space, you have to do everything yourself, from decorating to catering and everything in between.

Rent a Party Tent

If you have a large backyard, consider renting a party tent or marquee as your Baby Shower venue. Decorate with fairy lights and you have a magical setting fit for a princess.

Baby Shower on the Beach

If you live near the ocean, consider your local beach as a Baby Shower venue. Set up a nice picnic and throw a gorgeous, boho style Beach Baby Shower.

Roof Terrace

If you live in the city, a restaurant or venue with a rooftop terrace is a great idea. Not only can you and your guests wait, but you can also enjoy views across the city.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are many places where you can have a baby shower. In reality, however, the venue is not as important as having something unique and memorable. As long as you think outside the box, no matter what venue you choose to go with, your baby shower will be beautiful. Good luck!
